Saving taxpayer money with creative problem solving

Resolute saved the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries (L&I) as much as $250,000 of taxpayer money. Resolute worked with the L&I team to deploy a more advanced network operating system and help the agency improve its network security practices.

The Challenge

The state Department of L&I wanted to replace its Banyan VINES network operating system for one with better standards compatibility. They chose Microsoft Windows NT Server and Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) for software inventory and distribution and hired Resolute for quality assurance and project review.

The Results

Resolute quickly found savings opportunities. On their first review of the project plan, they advised changes that resulted in major savings in time and money.

Resolute also conducted a system security review, finding numerous areas for improvement in a detailed report with recommendations for increasing system security.
